Get Up and Go. God’s Got You, But You’ve Gotta Move

Some mornings feel heavier than others. The alarm goes off, and all you want to do is pull the covers back over your head and hide from the responsibilities, the noise, and the emotions waiting on the other side of that bed. But let me remind you of something, you woke up today on purpose and with purpose. That breath in your lungs? That’s proof that God’s not done with you yet.

Motivation doesn’t always come with fireworks or a sudden burst of energy. Sometimes it looks like dragging yourself out of bed even when you don’t feel like it. Sometimes it’s whispering a prayer while brushing your teeth. Sometimes it’s making a to-do list, taking a deep breath, and simply starting somewhere. Yes, God will strengthen you, but He’s also calling you to partner with Him.

That means showing up, even when you’re tired. It means taking the first step, even when you don’t see the full path. It means saying, “God, I trust You… but I’m also willing to move.” Faith without works is dead, and sometimes the “work” starts with just getting up. Maybe you’ve been feeling stuck. Maybe you’re discouraged, overwhelmed, or just exhausted. But don’t underestimate what God can do when you give Him your effort, even if it’s small.

Push yourself, not in your own strength, but with the confidence that God is walking right beside you. Start the day with Him. Read one verse. Say one prayer. Take one step. Let that momentum build. And when you feel yourself slipping again, remind your spirit, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

So, today, don’t wait until you feel ready. Don’t wait for the perfect conditions. Don’t let yesterday’s weight rob you of today’s opportunity. Get up. Get going. You’ve got this, and more importantly, God’s got you.

If this encouraged you, share it with someone who needs a little push this morning.
