Not Everyone Will Clap but Do It with God Anyway

Crying girl standing in front of a weeping crowd, symbolizing pain, courage, and faith — 'Not Everyone Will Clap, But Do It With God Anyway

Some people will misunderstand you on purpose. Some will see your light and try to dim it because they haven’t figured out how to shine themselves. And some will hate you, not because you did anything wrong, but because you dared to do what they were too afraid to even try.

But hear me clearly, you must do it anyway. In this life, you’ll run into negativity, judgment, and jealousy, especially when you start walking in your purpose. The more you become who God called you to be, the more uncomfortable it’ll make some people. Not because you’re doing wrong, but because your obedience exposes their hesitation. Your boldness stirs up their insecurity. Your progress reminds them of their passivity.

But that doesn’t mean you stop. It means you pray harder. It means you stay rooted in God. It means you keep showing up, even when their silence gets loud, even when they try to downplay your efforts, even when the enemy uses familiar faces to try to distract or discourage you. You were not created to please people. You were created to glorify God.

As long as what you’re doing is from the heart, and you’re being respectful, keep doing it. Don’t shrink to make others comfortable. Don’t stop showing up for the vision God placed in you just because people roll their eyes, whisper behind your back, or throw shade you didn’t deserve. Even Jesus, perfect and blameless, was hated, mocked, lied on, and betrayed. He was misunderstood, rejected by His own, and still chose to obey the will of the Father.

So who are we to expect anything different? People won’t always get it. That’s okay. Some people aren’t meant to walk with you into your next chapter. That’s okay too. We are not everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s still okay. Your focus isn’t on being liked. It’s on being obedient. Your job isn’t to win their approval. It’s to honor your assignment.

So, do it. Write the blog. Launch the business. Share the testimony. Show up for the calling. Speak the truth. Go where God sends you, even if you have to go alone. And as you go, pray. Pray that God protects your heart. Pray that He gives you discernment. Pray that He silences the lies and strengthens your spirit. Pray for the ones who hate you, who envy you, who try to tear you down because broken people project, and hurting people hurt others.

Don’t become like them. Instead, become even more like Christ. Let them talk. Let them doubt you. Let them exit. And let God handle the rest. Because when your heart is right, and your motive is pure, God will back you up in ways people never could. Stay the course.
